Lifeline Maryland

Maryland Lifeline Program provide financial assistance to low-income Maryland residents and help ensure that they can afford telephone service, either through a traditional telephone company or through a qualified wireless provider.

Lifeline Maryland is also called “Tel-Life”

Do You Qualify for Lifeline Maryland?

To qualify for Lifeline you must be enrolled in a qualifying social service program (see below):

  • Medicaid
  • Food Stamps
  • Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
  • National School Free Lunch Program
  • OR your income must be below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Verizon Maryland Lifeline Plans:

Basic Tel-Life Service

$0.66 per month for 30 outgoing calls and $.10 per call over the 30 call limit. Value-added services are not allowed (e.g., Call Waiting, Caller ID). No connection charges apply. Also, customers will not be charged for the federal subscriber line charge.

Enhanced Tel-Life Service

$10 per month for unlimited local calls. This plan allows customers to order two value-added services (e.g., Call Waiting, Caller ID) at current rates. No connection charges apply. Also, customers will not be charged for the federal subscriber line charge
